Curiosity, on the air.
There’s a lot inside an inexpensive handheld. A different firmware build, a better understanding of the menus, or a useful set of channels can change how you use it.
That’s where this project started. RF Splatter brings practical browser tools and guides together so you can explore those possibilities. The VEIL series takes that curiosity into original hardware: a mesh node with its first prototype boards in manufacturing, and a 2 m / 70 cm ham radio in design.
Built on community work
The UV-K5 firmware draws on the open-source work of the radio community, including egzumer and the projects behind it. RepeaterBook provides the repeater data. Meshtastic and MeshCore are independent projects with their own communities and firmware.
RF Splatter is independent of the radio manufacturers and those projects. Project pages distinguish development work from measured hardware results.
